Applied Practice Experience

I took the initiative to develop comprehensive, multilingual educational resources, such as a Firearm Safe Storage Guide in both English and Spanish, to address and reduce preventable injuries frequently seen in the Pediatric Trauma Unit at Vanderbilt. These resources played a crucial role in decreasing the number of injuries and promoting safer practices among caretakers. In addition, I meticulously conducted data documentation and designed structured surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of the Buckle Up Tennessee Safe Driving Program (BITZ), ensuring that the data collected was both reliable and actionable. Based on thorough analysis, I provided well-researched, evidence-based recommendations to strengthen and refine injury prevention strategies. My findings were shared through detailed oral and written reports, which I presented to hospital administrators and trauma department personnel, ensuring that the research could inform future initiatives and contribute to a safer environment for all.
